Nov. 27th, 2008 11:08 pm1. Review: personal development for smart people -- a review of a new personal development book by blogger extraordinaire Steve Pavlina. Mostly a reference so I can find this review later, but it's highly complimentary. (@ The Simple Dollar)
2. Book-a-Minute -- don't have time for Coles Notes? Wikipedia review too long? Try book-a-minute! Some of these are really funny, but it's best if you actually have read the book first, or at least know what it's about. There's a whole section for sci-fi!
3. Star Wars vs. Star Trek (5-minute video) -- a surprisingly well-done video about that age-old question, "who would win in a fight, Picard or Darth Vader?" Be sure to watch the whole thing: there's a bit after the credits.
4. The 20 unhealthiest drinks in America -- some of these drinks just make you go "um." Especially once you get toward the end of the list. Some surprised me, though.
5. A bounty sprouts in the city with MyFarm enterprise -- the idea is simple: you start farms in people's backyards and leave the homeowners a portion of the harvest, with the rest going to community-supported-agriculture baskets. Too bad it's only in San Francisco for the moment. Cool concept.
6. If I controlled the Internet (4-minute TED talk by Rives) -- a fun poem linking MySpace, eBay, Monster.com and the "real world." I, for one, would like to live in a world where Rives controlled the Internet.
7. Captain Smartypants sings Dreidel (3-minute video) -- cowboys! Dreidels! Together for the first (and probably last) time! You'll never listen to the Dreidel song the same way again.
