To liven up everyone's day, a few gaffes from the files I received today. Had these continued into the final product, they probably would have made for quite a different scene!

Today I found out that I was not chosen for the job at Vanier. I was apparently a very strong contender, they thought I gave a great interview, but they wound up choosing someone else. Maybe something might happen if they have openings in the future, but not right now.

On the other hand, as that door closes, the one at my current job opens. I sent my letter today to my boss expressing my desire to move to full-time status. I'm going to talk to my references on Monday to make sure they know HR will be contacting them, but I don't foresee any difficulties. If I didn't think I'd get good recommendations from these people, I wouldn't have listed them as references.

In other news, karate was a bit brutal today. Between the heat and humidity and warming up too fast, I think I was suffering some early stages of heat exhaustion during class today. I took it easy and actually learned some new moves (will I remember them? Who knows!), which is always nice. I'm just happy I got to the dojo three times this week, since I'll be missing the next three weeks (next week the dojo is closed, the two weeks after that I'm at Pennsic).

Otherwise, things are on an even keel. Nothing much else to report tonight.
