2. Fight more, listen less: Advice from a REAL communication expert -- some potentially counter-intuitive advice for communicating in relationships.
3. How to learn (but not master) any language in 1 hour -- essentially a way of orienting yourself to a language before you dive in feet first.
4. Ten principles of economics, translated (video) -- a great video from Yoram Bauman, the world's first and only "stand up economist." Maybe you've got to be an economics student to find this funny, but I think it's hilarious.
5. Swan Lake by Chinese acrobats (video) -- okay, this is just really impressive. Really impressive. Go watch it. (Hat-tip to my dad for the link.)
6. Self image (video) -- these people went out an interviewed people about their self image, then used the interviews as the audio to a claymation video. Amusing and thought-provoking, all at the same time.
7. Price discrimination and why coupons exist -- an interesting article about why we have coupons in the first place. A little long, but interesting reading.
8. How to take great portraits (video) -- a 6-minute video from a professional photographer about how to snap great portraits. A bit long on the book promo material between each tip, but the tips are worth it. Probably too basic for people who already know stuff about photography, but useful for a complete newb like me.
9. Polyphasic sleep -- this guy went for 5 months sleeping only in 20-minute naps, 6 times a day... and didn't suffer any ill effects at all. The link goes to a series of (long!) blog entries he wrote as he was doing it. Would I do it? No way! But it's interesting to read about.
10. Six cool bar tricks that anyone can master (videos) -- pretty much exactly what the title says. I haven't watched all of them, but the last one looks like a good way of winning drinks (if, of course, I were inclined to want to win drinks).
