Productive... I think
Jul. 14th, 2007 11:56 pmI did three things of value today, which is better than two but not as good as four:
1. I wrote a 4000-word story, set in the universe of my Toronto D&D game. At this point, it only makes sense to me and the GM, but that's never stopped me before. It was good to just sit down and write. Also, it's been going through my head all day.
2. I helped Ian pack up some breakable / valueable stuff from his parents' place. We got through about 40 items, which I guestimate is about 80% done. Back early tomorrow morning to finish it off.
3. I co-hosted "Tea and Arguments" night. This was the brainchild of my friend Eric, and we've been trying to make it work since January. The concept is simple: bring your favourite tea and a few argument topics, drink the former and argue the latter. In the end, we were four people, and it was a lot of fun. We didn't so much give sustained arguments, but allowed the conversation to range and cover just about everything. It was the most intellectual conversation I've had in months, and I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. In any case, it was very enjoyable. I won the prize for the most evil argument. It was one word long. Yes, it was that evil. No, I'm not telling you what it was. You had to be there.
So that's it for today. The universe seems to be stubbornly refusing my pleas for sleep. Last night, the first night in two weeks I actually had the chance for a decent amount of sleep, I had a chest cold and woke up every 3-4 hours. Tonight and tomorrow night I'm back to my usual 6 hours. Maybe Monday night. Maybe...
Anyway, just waiting for Marc's call now. Soon sleep. Soon afterwards, wake up and repeat. For now, g'night.
