Of course my body decides to wait until the day after my doctor's appointment to get sick. And I'm talking the sore-throat, blocked-nose, no-appetite, no-energy kind of sick, too. I don't know why I got it: I rarely get this type of cold. I suspect it's a combination of a 14-hour fast, perpetual sleep-deprivation, blood tests, vaccinations, and being around sick people at the doctor's office or at school. Whatever the reason, though, it really sucks.
I need to teach today and tomorrow. Money matters aside, I've already taken a day off this week, and it would be really unprofessional to call in sick at the last minute. Further, I've already agreed to replace someone tomorrow afternoon, and it's been arranged since Tuesday. I don't want to let him down. I'm not looking forward to today's class: it's challenging even when I'm in good health. I have no idea how I'll get through the three hours today.
I was supposed to go visit Ian's mom at the hospital this afternoon. Suffice to say, that probably won't be happening. I intend to plan my lesson as quickly as possible and then go home to sleep.
Ugh. Now to print out pages and get my bag ready...
Early afternoon update: On my way to class, in the metro, I got my appetite back. Somewhere during class, my nose stopping being blocked. So now, aside from a lingering sore throat and the desire not to get back on food too fast, I think I'm on the mend. Yay!
