Never mind

May. 20th, 2007 12:36 pm
I started and stopped this post at least three or four times before realizing that I have nothing of interest to say for the last day and a half. I did karate, spent time with friends, attended an aborted metro party... and that's about it. While I like lazy days, I need to find things to fill them. Too much lazy is making me lose my momentum.

So that's it. Rest assured that if I think of anything interesting to say, you'll be the first to read it.
Today I went shopping. For clothes. Understand that this is not a routine occurrence for me. Aside from a few Village des Valeurs runs, I haven't been clothes shopping since last April (with my aunts), and before that, I think the last time was Sept. 2005, before I left for Toronto. Usually this means that by the time I finally go clothes shopping, I really do desperately need new clothes, as the old ones are getting kind of ratty.

I'm pleased at what I got: three pairs of work-appropriate pants (two plain black, one black with pinstripes), one pair of jeans, one sleeveless red t-shirt, and one nice top that can either be worn over the t-shirt or by itself. A good set of spoils, all things considered.

One thing that took me completely aback, though, was the size of all these myriad clothes (and especially the pants):

Size 5.

When the heck did I become a size 5?

A year and a half ago, I was size 12. Last year, I was size 8. At some point in the intervening year, I became a size 5. I'm pleased and bewildered all at the same time, because I haven't actually been doing much to actively lose weight. But pleased nonetheless. Yay!
