Apr. 30th, 2007

Here I am on a Monday morning, surprisingly finished all my prep work with a half-hour to spare before I need to leave the house. What on Earth am I going to do with all that time? Why, LJ of course!

So. Yesterday was for the most part unproductive. I managed to get a litle walking in, a trip to the library (where, surprisingly again, they actually had a few new books I wanted to read), and came home just in time for people to show up for character creation. My friend Eric is starting up a short MIB-style game (not based on the movie, but based on the "secret government agency" feel). The cast of characters so far looks like an ex-priest who's lost his faith (Ian), a martial artist (Jeff), a former forensics expert (Sam), and a gadgeteer (me). Should be fun.

Today's lesson is mostly going to be off-the-cuff, based mostly on what students want to do. It's the halfway mark in the course, so we're doing a general review. Nice and relaxed, hopefully.

Reading back through the last two paragraphs, I realize I'm just babbling now, so I'll sign off for the time being. TTFN.
eveglass: (books in the hand)
This month was very odd for books. By Apr. 14, I had read four books in five days. And I haven't finished a single book since, which is annoying. I mostly blame my library, for not having any books that interest me, and myself, for not having any time to read them in.

Anyway, here's what I've read this month:

22. Change or Die, Alan Deutschman )
23. The Portion Plan: How to Eat the Foods You Love & Still Lose Weight, Linda Gassenheimer )
24. My Secret Life on the McJob: Lessons from Behind the Counter Guaranteed to Supersize Any Management Style, Jerry Newman )
25. Snow Crash, Neal Stephenson )
26. Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die, Chip Heath & Dan Heath )

So that's it for this month. Consider yourselves enlightened into the workings of my brain and bookshelf.
