Stressed + Tired = Not Good

Problem #1: I'm so tired. I hate waking up at 7 at the best of times, and waking up at 7 after two days of shifting my circadian clock forward by 4-5 hours is not the best of times. I think you can tell just by the confused syntax of the last sentence, I am not at my best.

Problem #2: I'm really nervous about my class this morning. I'm not sure I planned enough material. I still haven't listened to the recording I'm using in the second half of the class. I still feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't know whether I'll have any students show up today -- Gods know that I wouldn't show up if I didn't need to.

It's at times like this that a brainless, inconsequential secretarial job is looking mighty tempting. Stupid stress.

One down, three to go

Todays' breadcrumb is about the Egyptians who chose to believe in the Israelite God.

So. Just got home from my first teaching stint of the week, which runs 9-12 every day until Friday. On the one hand, the class went pretty well. I had a bit of lag in terms of content (ie: I had 15 minutes to fill and nothing planned), but I managed to bluff my way through it and it all worked out in the end. On the other hand, I hate lesson planning. Hate it. With a lingering, abiding hatred. If someone just planned the lesson for me and said, "here you go, teach this," my world would be a happier place. Planning SCA workshops and lectures was never this difficult.

Of course, I now need to plan another 3 hours of class for tomorrow. The fun never stops in my house.

Before that, though, I'm off to Ian's parents' place to pick up a few things, and I also need to write tomorrow's Daily Breadcrumbs essay. I suppose i should have lunch at some point as well. Though, in all honesty, I'd really just prefer to sleep. Le sigh.
