Today went much better than yesterday. The morning consisted of a great deal of language work: some very nifty things about pronunciation and more stuff about introducing new vocabulary. Oddly enough, it was quite interesting.

For my lesson this afternoon, I actually wrote out everything I planned to say: every instruction, every lead-in, every question. It took a long time, most of my lunch hour, in fact. I did it in an attempt to defeat my arch-nemesis: speed and verbosity. I must say that it appeared to work. All my colleagues told me that I was much clearer today, and all the students really seemed to understand my instructions and explanations. I'm not sure I'll keep doing it, but in terms of sheer effectiveness, it's a keeper.

And now, I must finish my third assignment (some of my co-trainees gave me some useful ideas), and then I'm going to go roleplay at Ian's. Tomorrow I'm teaching, but it's not assessed, so we have decided to bring in a bunch of language games (Boggle, Scrabble, Yatzee, etc.) and just play for an hour or an hour and a half. I can work with this. *grin*
