I had a lovely evening tonight. First, karate: along with three other yellow belts, I learned five chains of movements needed to pass to orange belt. Somehow, I found myself leading the others as "coach," even though I myself only just learned the moves. It's my natural teacher coming out, I suppose. I was very pleased with a compliment I got from one of the green belts, to the effect of, "you've done martial arts before, haven't you? Because, even though you're wearing a yellow belt, you don't
seem like a yellow belt."
It was gratifying.
Afterwards, I met up with
crazyroman for coffee. Conversation ranged, as it always does, but I'd like to think we both enjoyed ourselves. And, after about two hours, I managed to make it home at a decent hour... for once.
Also, I had a thought about potential jobs: editor. I'm a fairly good writer and a fairly good editor, or so all my professors have assured me. Why not use that to my advantage? I'm still researching the field, so if anyone has any information (Joane, I'm looking at you), I'd be grateful.
That's it for tonight, then. G'night all.
