I should know better
Dec. 4th, 2004 03:55 pmI should really know better than to pick up a science fiction book in the middle of semester. I should know better than to start reading book I know I'll enjoy when I have papers to write. I should know this, because once I start reading a good book, I find it hard to put it down until it's finished.
And yet yesterday I picked up a book I haven't read in 7 years, that I knew I'd enjoy because I really enjoyed it the first time, and started reading. I just finished it. To my credit, I've actually managed to do work between when I started and when I finished. I did all the research for my last paper, and have come up with a general outline.
The paper is due on Tuesday. I have all day tomorrow, two hours Monday, and until 3 o'clock Tuesday to get it written. You know you're a university student when this actually doesn't seem that bad.
