I used to work in the education department of a museum, and it strikes me that this might be a field you'd like. You get to teach in a variety of ways: leading tours, doing workshops with kids, designing activities for teachers. And on a variety of subjects: you're not expected to be an expert on [whatever], the curators who put the exhibitions together are the experts and your job is more of an interpreter. And of course, there are all kinds of museums, big, small, art, science, history... You get to be creative, interact with a wide variety of people, and do some writing of the "short and fun" variety.
if it sounds like something you might want to check out, see if you can volunteer somewhere; that's probably the best way to get a feel for it.
