Out of the Mouths of Godlings

Last night's session is titled by the GM, "Sewers and Rats and Mike Pinksy, Oh My!" If it were up to me, it would probably be titled, "Just When You Think Things Can't Get Worse, They Do." You decide which is more appropriate.


[In honor of his fallen comrade, Cameron has placed Yojimbo Jones' spear in a prominent place in his new paintball arena.]
Kyn: "So you pretty much wasted a relic?"
Marc: "Pretty much, yeah."
Kyn: "Yojimbo loves it!"

[When all of Tetsuo's notes on Atlantis start disappearing, he comes in a panic to Sarah's studio. Of course, no one else knows why the hot-shot corporate mogul is there.]
Julie: "As far as my people are concerned, Tetsuo is a corporate sponsor. He's not gonne be a consultant on my show!"

[Pat the GM introduces the main storyline of the session.]
Cameron: "A have an old friend of mine -- just killed his wife."
Iblis (Kyn's new character): "She probably deserved it."

[Cameron decides to enlist help from the Circle.]
Cameron: (on the phone) "Mr. Kobayashi... Yes, really... Yes, he'll take my call."
Tetsuo: "So, every call from Cameron, flush it."

[Tetsuo agrees to meet with Cameron and see what he can do to help.]
Tetsuo: "I'll see you and your friend Iblis soon."
Cameron: "'Friend' is so..."
Tetsuo: "So you don't trust him. Gotcha."

[Cameron makes the introductions.]
Cameron: "Mr. Iblis is a son of Ishtar."
Julie: "How pretty is he?"

[Cameron thinks his friend Mike Pinksy is innocent. Tetsuo launches into gear.]
Tetsuo: "Noah, fetch my lawyers!"

[Our Heroes (tm) prepare to go to the precinct.]
Testuo: "We're gonna intimidate the shit out of 'em!"
Cameron: "He's my friend!"
Tetsuo: "I meant the police."

[We're pretty sure that it was doppelgangers who killed Mike Pinksy's wife.]
Cameron: "Why would Mike have fought the police?"
Sarah: "He may be the doppelganger."
Pat the GM: "..."
Seb: "Did she just crack the case?"

[At the station, we find that one of the officers -- the one that Mike was fighting -- is in fact a Titanspawn.]
Kyn: "I lock the door."
Seb: "He's about to do something stupid."
Kyn: "I'm not gonna kill him!"
Julie: "I don't actually know what you're doing."

[We do not kill the Titanspawn in the middle of the police station. Instead, we head over to Mike Pinsky's house to investigate the doppelgangers.]
Tetsuo: "I didn't think I'd chauffeur everyone."
Pat the GM: "Actually, it's your chauffeur who's chauffeuring everyone."

[Below the sewers under Mike's house, we find a hallway with the symbol of The Master.]
Iblis: "So it's down this path?"
Sarah: "Something is down this path."

[As we start walking, Cameron sees a ghost and stops to investigate. Sadly, he's the only one of us with the Death purview.]
Iblis: "What's happening back there?"
Tetsuo: "Cameron's talking to a wall."

[Further down the hall is a magical barrier.]
Iblis: "Magic was never my forté."
Cameron: "Well, what does it do?"
Iblis: "I dunno."

[The barrier comes down as the sun sets. Beyond it is utter darkness.]
Iblis: *sprays machine-gun fire down the corridor until it sounds like he's connected with something*
Tetsuo: "That could be the person we're looking for. Good going, guys."

[At the bottom of the dark corridor is a central chamber with robed figures chanting. While Our Heroes (tm) deal with them pretty handily, they encounter Kagel, the doppelganger. Thankfully, they make pretty short work of him.]
Iblis: "What do you want to do with him, other than shoot him in the head?"

[After the fight, everyone investigates a small side room, while Tetsuo stays behind and kills the doppelganger, which Iblis has expressly told him not to do. And for good reason, as a dark shadow starts enveloping the room, with him in it.]
Tetsuo: (worried) "Okay, guys, you can come back!"

[Iblis realizes what has happened.]
Iblis: "Does he never listen to orders?!"

[In trying to break the summoning circle that brought forth the shadow-being, Cameron gets a flashback to a long-ago time. He sees Titans running from... something.]
Pat the GM: "Darkness."
Kyn: "That's not so scary."
Pat the GM: "It's enveloped half the world."
Kyn: "Okay, that's scary."

[The darkness swirls out of the room, taking all our legend points with it. In the small side room, Sarah finds a postcard from the Drake Hotel, signed Talia.]
Tetsuo: "Is that a message from the darkness?"
Sarah: "Yes, actually."

[Seb sums up the situation.]
Seb: "So we're all in agreement that I shouldn't have shot that guy in the head?"

[For trying to break the circle, Cameron has nearly died.]
Iblis: "Don't give him any more morphine."
Doctor: "How much has he had?"
Iblis: "...Just don't give him any more."

[The PCs consult about the situation in Tetsuo's office. Also present is John Locke.]
Sarah: "John, why are you here?"
John Locke: "If I'm here, it must be for a reason."
Sarah: "Yes, the reason is the door was open and you came in."

[It turns out that Mike Pinksy's wife was found, surprisingly alive and unharmed. Iblis decides to investigate.]
Iblis: "Just in case, I'll take Cameron with me."
Tetsuo: "Is he okay?"
Iblis: "...He should be able to walk."

[Pinsky's wife is pregnant.]
Mike Pinsky: "If it's a boy, we're gonna name him Cam."
Cameron: "Oh, that's just asking for trouble."

[Meanwhile, Tetsuo has some visitors: an FBI agent and an Interpol agent.]
FBI Agent: "I'm Agent Smith."
Tetsuo: "...Sure."

[It turns out the Interpol agent is also a Scion. Tetsuo has a bit of a confession to make to the rest of the Circle.]
Tetsuo: "Yeah, I stole the Book of the Dead."
Iblis: "Okay, I know who she's a Scion of now."

[Iblis, meanwhile, has no stake in the outcome, except being able to taunt a Scion from a rival pantheon.]
Iblis: "My mother sends her regards to yours."
Agent El Darsa: "..."
Iblis: "Bast."
Cameron: "Mine doesn't."

[Agent El Darsa, Scion of Bast, confronts Tetsuo.]
Agent El Darsa: "Did you steal the book?"
Tetsuo: "Yeah."
Agent El Darsa: "I need it back."
Tetsuo: "Absolutely."

[Tetsuo gets a visit from John Kennedy, who doesn't really know what happened in the aftermath of his rescue from Pennywise.]
John Kennedy: "What happened?"
Tetsuo: "Your mother. Hera."
John Kennedy: "Yes?"
Tetsuo: "She happened."

[Tetsuo's pissed at Hera.]
Tetsuo: "It's hard to bring a god to justice, right?"

[Meanwhile, Sarah is not able to access the Dreaming, and the rest of the PCs have horrible nightmares every time they sleep. Iblis starts going a bit nuts.]
Iblis: "How do I sleep again?!"
Scion of Ishtar: "Make a sacrficie to your mother."
Iblis: "Sold! Should I start with a human, or should I work my way up?"

[Iblis decides to kill a Titanspawn as a sacrifice to his mother. Sadly, all the ones he can find are already dead. By shadow-blades and shadow-bullets.]
Iblis: "Who's killing all the Titanspawn?"
Cameron: "...My sister."
Iblis: "I'm gonna kill your sister."

[Of course, Iblis knows where there's a Titanspawn: the NYPD head precinct.]
Cameron: "Even diplomatic immunity won't save you from the NYPD.'
Iblis: "I'll just kill them all. I can blame it on Al Qaeda."

[To get through to Sarah, Morpheus breaks through the barrier that's blocking her. Sadly, he nearly kills her in the process. More sadly, he has some bad news.]
Morpheus: "The first child we created was created from darkness."
Seb: (deadpan) "Good plan."

[Because Sarah's own body is dying, Morpheus puts her into the body of one of her fatebound: a 12-year-old girl. In a panic, she calls Tetsuo.]
Tetsuo: "Get back in your body!"
Sarah: "It's dead!"
Tetsuo: "For how long?"
Sarah: "For... ever?"

[Sarah finds her own body, dead for 8 minutes. It's being inhabited by her older sister, the being made out of darkness that can kill Titans.]
Sarah: "Get out of my body, you bitch!"
Kyn: "She used a badass line with 'bitch' in it; she has to win!"

[Iblis sums up the situation as we know it.]
Iblis: "So shadows were eating Titans, and you released it."
Tetsuo: "...I feel like this is a 'we' situation here."

[Sarah may have gotten her body back, but her sister has other ideas about what she might like to do with her newfound freedom.]
Marc: "I go back to the scene of the massacre."
Julie: "You mean, my studio."
Kyn: "It's now called 'the scene of the massacre.'"

[Cameron finds his mother to get some advice. She's a believer in harsh love.]
Marc: "Is this gonna show up on an x-ray? Someone took a bite out of my kidney!"

[Cameron tells the Morrigan about the shadow-creature.]
The Morrigan: "Who unleashed her?"
Cameron: "..."
The Morrigan: "Wait one more second and I'll rip something else out."
Cameron: "We've killed Titanspawn..."
The Morrigan: "Wrong answer." *rips out a muscle*


And that's it for now! Darkness unleashed upon the world, and it's all Seb's fault! Sadly, it's all our cross to bear. We'll just have to be Big Damn Heroes, I suppose.
