Why I really, really want a scanner

I was going through some of my old folders today, and I found a journal I kept for school when I was 7 years old. It's the most adorable thing ever. It's even illustrated.

I absolutely need to scan this onto my computer.

While I'm at it, I've also got some high school journals I kept -- illustrations, runic writing (it was a phase), stickers... the works. Oh, and I've also got souvenirs and postcards from my 2005 Europe trip I'd like to scan. There's a bunch of stuff.

You had a runic writing phase too? Heheh. I poached mine from the Ultima games. We used to pass notes written in it in high school.

Yeah. When I was 12, I visited my 10-year-old cousin, and she had a brand new "witchcraft" book, (in retrospect, it was probably watered-down Wicca) which contained a rune chart. As far as I've been able to figure out, they're a modified version of the Futhark runes.

Anyway, when I got back home, I taught it to some friends, and we passed notes to each other in runes. I've actually got quite a bit of writing (stories, notes, calendars) entirely written in runes. Thankfully, I can still (mostly) understand it.
