One interview down...

The interview went quite well, but I don't have the job. It was a great morale boost, though. The department manager (to whom I would have been reporting) told me I was "the perfect candidate" and would have hired me on the spot. However, I couldn't offer them a long-term commitment, and they were looking for someone who wanted to be with the company for a while, possibly moving into sales at some point. I couldn't give them that. And even if I were looking for a company to grow and expand in, potato trading just doesn't seem interesting to me, frankly.

On the other hand, if any of you guys are unemployed and looking for a job, let me know and I'll pass on your CV. They're a transportation / potatoe trading company looking for a jack-of-all-trades administrative assistant (invoicing, payables, receivables, filing, booking trucks, etc.). Located on L'Acadie just north of the 40. If you're interested, let me know.

So... still don't have a job, but I'm feeling much better about myself. Tomorrow... interview with Nordia. I'll keep you posted.

Sounds kinda interesting, but you would eventually move to sales? That not so much. And I just refused a job by L'Acadie cause it was just too far for me. For a lingerie company. I don't have any of the specs cause they got me off Monster, but the name was Collection Ariana. If you want, I can try and get the phone number for you.

You wouldn't need to move to sales, but the option is there. That's actually why the position has opened up: the former admin assistant moved to sales and they're looking for someone to replace her. Personally, I have no interest in sales. But they are, in the end, looking for a general administrative assistant.

What was the job at the lingerie company? I don't mind the area, as it's pretty easy for me to get to by car (I live right by the Decarie circle). But I'd like to know what the job description is before giving them a call.
