Noisy and homeless

Well, at least for one night. We're renovating the downstairs hallway (putting in new tiles) which pretty much means that I won't be able to walk downstairs to my bedroom tonight. As of noon, I'm kicked out of downstairs until tomorrow morning. Alas.

Also, renovations are really noisy. Who knew?

Moved

An hour an a half later, most of the stuff that was in my present bedroom has been moved to my former bedroom upstairs, the better to allow the painting and re-flooring of my present bedroom.

My first thought, "dear God, how did I used to fit all my stuff *in* here?"

Then I remembered that I used to have access to shelves. And drawers. And closet space. And the wall that my mother is currently using for her school supplies, extending about a foot into the room.

So I don't feel so bad anymore.

On the other hand, I suspect I'm not going to be spending much time in there over the next month. I'm not claustrophobic, but there's a *lot* of stuff in there. Thank goodness I should be back in my present bedroom before Pennsic.

Like living with a poltergeist...

We're painting the walls and redoing the floors in my room early next month, so I'll be moving upstairs for a few weeks. A corollary to this is that we need to take just about everything out of my room while this is happening.

My mom, ever the ambitious sort, has taken it upon herself to box up a lot of my stuff in preparation for the renovations. So every few days for the last week or two, I've come home to find something else missing. One day, it was all the books from my bookshelf. Another day it was the bookshelf itself. Yesterday, I came home to a room with no blinds. Today, I have no sofa, though I do have clothing hanging from a temporary stand on wheels.

What next? Who knows. It's an adventure, right in my own room.

At least it keeps me on my toes, I suppose.
