The Devil Made Me Do It

A fairly low-key session last night, involving a lot of gold flowing into the hands of Our Heroes (tm), partly as payment for ridding Mirrarod of the Devil of Envy, and partly from an exotic animals dealer for bringing him the rare Blade-Tailed Minsk. Of course, first we actually had to get the rare bird to him, which proved to be slightly more difficult than anticipated...

[The players figure out how to spend their reward.]
Sabina: "Would enchanting my ax as devil-bane be meta-gaming?"
Eric: "At this point, any devil-based optimization is perfectly legitimate."

[One of our NPC companions last session was following us to the big fight with the devil, only to be descended upon by a mob of villagers.]
Andrew: "The Vershniki guy died kicking and screaming."
Julie: "Mostly screaming."

[Yet again, we encounter a bit of a discrepancy between game-time and real-time.]
Adam: "Nur! It's been... how long has it been?"
Robert the GM: "About an hour."
Adam: "...So, not very long, then."

[We meet with Lord Teck Orcam, whose house we ransacked looking for the devil.]
Eric: "There actually is a rational explanation for why we broke through his ceiling! I just realized that."

[We get our reward from the mayor.]
Robert the GM: "He gives you 10,000 gp and you each get a mount of your choosing."
Andrew: (far too eagerly) "Really?"
Adam: "Are you sure you want to phrase it that way?"

[We leave the city with the blade-tailed minsk, a rare bird we're taking back to Messeney to sell. It starts to sing, causing Gorka'munda, Jace, and Bardo to fall under its spell and become entranced.]
Julie: "Out of game, I'm like 'Whew! I can't believe I made that will save!' In game, I'm like, 'Wow, something that'll get Gorka'munda to shut up!'"

[There were a few loose ends back in Mirrarod we were kind of hoping wouldn't get mentioned.]
Andrew: "I forget... did we want to handle that spider-monster thing?"
Julie: "Nope!"
Eric: (mock-innocently) "What spider monster thing?!"

[Gorka'munda's new mount is a dire ox, whom he has named George. He brings it to his 'cave' back in Messeney, which is actually the alleyway beside our tavern.]
Robert the GM: "Your ox observes your cave with angry lack of interest."
Andrew: "What are you, George, one of those ritzy oxes?!"

[Gorka'munda goes out drinking.]
Andrew: "I drank fifteen."
Eric: "Shots?"
Andrew: "Taverns."

[There are only three devils left.]
Adam: "I'm waiting for the devil of lust -- I have charm spells!"
Julie: "I don't need charm spells, I am a charm spell!"

[Our Heroes (tm) arrive in the mining town of Lyssoria, home to the Devil of Greed. Baska sees great opportunity here.]
Andrew: "Damn, now I wish I was playing a rogue!"
Julie: "Don't you?"
Andrew: "I could make so much money!"
Julie: (grinning) "Couldn't you?"

And that's it for this week. Next week, down into the gold mine to root out the Devil of Greed! See you then!
