The D&D Game With No Name
Having now dealt with the devil of wrath, Our Heroes (tm) return to Messeney to find everyone kinda slow. One might even say... slothful. Could we have a theme on our hands? Why yes, yes we could! Time to track down the devil of sloth!
[The townspeople of Corrid gossip about the big fight against the orc, aka the devil of wrath.]
Townsperson 1: "I heard it was eight feet tall!"
Townsperson 2: "I heard it was nine feet tall!"
Baska: (aside) "I'm gonna have so much fun!"
[Bardo is faced with a huge crowd of well-wishers who want to congratulate her on the fight. She is less than enthusiastic.]
Townsperson: "Did you kill the devil?"
Bardo: "...Technically, yeah."
[Meanwhile, Colt goes off to visit Talois the blacksmith, who got in quite a good shot on the orc before Colt's fight.]
Talois: "How did you kill it?"
Eric: "We hit it 'till it stopped moving."
[Walking through the city, Ionos and Colt are approached by some townspeople asking for donations to give a gift to the foreigners who killed the devil, i.e. Our Heroes. Colt donates a gold piece.]
Julie: (to Adam) "Are you going to donate to yourself?"
[Meanwhile, Gorka'munda approaches the city gates.]
Andrew: "There's no torch-bearing mob to greet me?"
Robert the GM: "No torch-bearing mob."
Andrew: "Wow, that's an unexpected surprise."
[Our Heroes return to Messeney, to find that people have been kinda lazy over the last few days.]
Robert the GM: "There's garbage left in the street."
Gorka'munda: "Free food!"
[The players reach the inevitable conclusion.]
Eric: "Does this society have a conception of the seven deadly sins as Christianity imagines them?"
Robert the GM: "Yes. Yes, they do."
Eric: "I'd like to make a connection!"
[No one's stopping Gorka'munda from entering the city, or even entering the bar. Confused, he orders a beer.]
Robert the GM: "Very slowly, he gets you a beer."
Andrew: "Okay, now something is wrong."
[Everyone has their own reasons for being suspicious. Surprisingly, they're mostly right.]
Gorka'munda: "Gorka'munda suspect foul magic."
Ionos: "Because people aren't afraid of you?"
Gorka'munda: *nods*
Ionos: "Makes sense."
[Ionos suggests that we have Gorka'munda move through the streets of Messeney at night, banging a loud drum.]
Ionos: "And we'll see who falls asleep!"
Baska: "I thought we were doing it to see who runs away and who doesn't."
Ionos: "...That's much cleverer than my plan."
[After going around the city with Gorka'munda for a few hours...]
Baska: "So we haven't found anything."
Ionos: "Well, we found one thing: we haven't been arrested."
That's it for this time! Next week, the inevitable question: where the heck do you go to find a devil of sloth? Also, will Our Heroes (tm) stay awake long enough to find out? Join us next time for the thrilling continuation!
