I've been reading through, and I'm getting the sense that many of these patterns are... complicated. What I'd be looking for is something not too terribly big for a first project, and preferably something that I wouldn't be wearing (except maybe socks) since I'm not certain I'll be able to get the sizing right. And not too complicated.

Can you think of anything that fits the bill?
