Going once, going twice, sold!
Indeed, this evening was far more interesting than this afternoon. High Table was great, as always, and tonight's meal featured lots of hearts (in honour of Hallmark Day) and tasty lamb. Also, my dad was in attendance, and I actually got to sit with him for once. He seemed to enjoy himself.
Afterwards was the talent auction, a fundraiser in support of Foodshare. The basic idea was that Masseyites would auction off various talents (generally, but not always, in the form of lessons of various types). I tell you, some of the bidding wars were fierce, with the winner bidding as much as $270 for one item! I had submitted two items for auction, a filked song and a half-hour tarot reading. They sold for $25 and $50, respectively. I suppose I better brush up on my tarot-reading, huh?
And now I'm home. I'm going to make one phone call and then go to bed. My throat is still scratchy, but otherwise there are no signs of the hopefully-not-sickness deteriorating. I haven't prepared my Latin for tomorrow, but I should go anyway, if only to do the sight passage. I'll figure it out. For now, sleep. G'night all.
